you think of everything that was,

try to keep your head in the game.

Then you pass me on your way to bed,

you carefully look me in the eye,

You remember all the tears we’ve shed,

Look at us, what have we become?

We run our fingers through our hair,

you’re thinking about the future,

why it all seems so unfair

and why are they trying to hurt you.

you feel small,

but I stand tall.
